My will was all done remotely by phone, notes, letters due to the distance involved – about 145 miles, general health and Covid restrictions.
More recently I had a serious illness with loss of driving license and other lasting problems but I have been very lucky with the outcome. What seemed difficult was much easier with the help I was given. Excellent service. Solicitor Alex Jenkins and secretary Enya Garrett have been friendly, considerate, shown knowledge in an understanding way throughout preparing my will – and I have never met them.

I am an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and joined the firm in 1982 (when it was Hooper & Wollen) having previously worked with a local law firm in Totnes.
I am part of our Elder Client Care and Protection Team within the Private Client Department managing clients personal affairs under Powers of Attorney, and creating Lasting Powers of Attorney to ensure that this isn’t just a document filling exercise, and that wishes and feelings are expressed correctly to ensure attorneys have a good framework to operate within to ensure no accidental misuse of documents.
My main interest away from work is in local theatre, where I am heavily involved as a performer and as a director, staging major musicals and pantomimes at various local venues including the Princess Theatre, and I am also the South Devon representative for the National Operatic and Dramatic Association and Secretary of both Toads Stage Musical Co and Paignton Pantomime Productions.
