Hannah Goodman has reached a settlement of £13,800 on behalf of a claimant in a clinical negligence case against an NHS Trust.

The claim concerned a woman who sustained a wrist fracture and underwent surgical fixation at her local hospital. During the procedure, a plate and screws were used to stabilise the bone. However, expert evidence later confirmed that one of the screws was excessively long, protruding beyond the bone and causing significant pain and complications.

Ultimately, the woman required a second operation to remove the plate and screws, which was deemed unnecessary but for the original error.

The woman said, “You have all been amazing and so supportive and without you I wouldn’t have got this outcome.”
