My specialism is in Estate Administration with a focus on high value and/or complex Estates. Problematic Wills, business assets and foreign property often feature and I strive to adopt a pragmatic approach to resolving tricky issues.
I have strong links with other professionals such as Accountants, Financial Advisors and Land Agents which (where required) enables us to achieve the desired outcome in a timely and efficient manner. I am not afraid to tackle HMRC on issues of Inheritance Tax and often engage with and challenge the District Valuer to achieve a favourable outcome in terms of the Estate’s exposure to Inheritance Tax.
As well as my core area of legal practice, I am also passionate about supporting local businesses and the communities in which we live and work. I am a retired volunteer Trustee of Hospiscare and also hold the vice-chair role with Exeter Chamber of Commerce as well as sitting on various committees in the village in which I live.
