I studied law at Exeter University before completing my post graduate legal training at the University of the West of England. I then trained and qualified with a large national commercial practice based in Bristol and qualified as a solicitor in 2007. I returned to North Devon and joined Toller Beattie LLP in 2012 being made a partner in 2014.
Upon Toller Beattie LLP’s merger with Wollens in October 2018 I was appointed as Head of Department for the firm’s successful and well respected Residential Conveyancing Team. Whilst I have significant experience of dealing with light commercial transactions my specialism is now residential conveyancing. The majority of my working day is spent advising purchasers of New Build Homes across a range of residential developments in the South West. I also act for developers in establishing the legal paperwork for residential estates and then disposing of individual plots.
Outside of the office I am a keen sports fan and participant (particularly football, racket sports and golf). I am a third generation Arsenal fan and current Chairman of Lynton & Lynmouth AFC. To the detriment of my waistline I also I very much enjoy socialising, cooking, eating and drinking decent ales (including those brewed at my sibling’s commercial brewery). In what seems like another life I have previously acted as a County Court Advocate (undertaking over 1200 County Court hearings) and held a lease of my own Fish & Chip shop (another family obsession).
