Laura is a specialist family lawyer and joins Wollens from a highly regarded national specialist family law firm. Laura has been solely practising family law since 2011 and specialises in financial matters connected with relationships, for both married and unmarried couples. Zhenja trained and worked at Thrings Solicitors in Bristol, and prior to that, she worked at DAC Beachcroft in their Dispute Resolution team.

During her training, Zhenja gained experience with the Private Client and Property Litigation teams, ultimately qualifying in Family Law in 2019, where she has since been practising. She advises clients on all aspects of privately funded family work, including resolving financial matters on divorce, particularly in complex cases involving family businesses, farming partnerships, and issues of domestic abuse. She also assists clients with child arrangements, including cases involving child relocation, and has experience applying for non-molestation and occupation orders. Zhenja’s particular area of expertise is advising separating cohabiting couples on their rights in shared property, and her background in dispute resolution gives her a strong knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules required for such cases.

Zhenja will assist clients both in and out of court proceedings, striving to resolve as many cases as possible through alternative means where appropriate. This approach is in line with recent changes in the FPR and helps clients retain control over the process and costs of their cases.

Rachel Carter, Head of the Family Team at Wollens said “The Wollens family team is a large team allowing us to offer really specialist advice in all aspects of family law.  Having Zhenja and Laura join the team further adds to our ability to assist clients with any family law issues they have.  They both bring years of experience and share our passion for excellent client care.”
