I am a Trainee Solicitor working in the Regulatory Department, specialising in sports and employment law. I joined Wollens following the successful completion of a unique placement year with both Wollens Solicitors and Exeter City Football Club as part of my law degree at the University of Exeter.
I have worked with athletes, clubs and organisations across a variety of sports, including football, rugby and cricket. I have advised on governing body regulations, disciplinary proceedings, commercial contracts, sponsorship and venue hire agreements, transfer and loan agreements, playing contracts, intellectual property rights, visas, and non-disclosure agreements. I established Exeter City Football Club’s first in-house legal function, and worked alongside the club’s Finance and Governance Committee, reviewing governance documents and constitutional matters.
I have also gained experience during a Global Leaders’ Programme with the United Nations, where I attended proceedings at the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court in The Hague, and engaged with diplomats, ambassadors and legal professionals from around the world.
As a former national swimmer selected for the England Talent Programme, university record-holder and club captain, I bring the discipline, teamwork, resilience and organisational skills developed through elite sport to my legal practice. I also enjoy running, going to the gym, travelling, music and learning languages, having studied German, Russian and Latin.

Testimonials
Steve and Nicky were incredible during our recent house purchase. Their communication was clear throughout, which made a stressful process much easier to manage… Steve was consistently thorough, professional, and reassuring… We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Steve, Nicky, and the wider Wollens team. If we ever move again, we’ll be using them without question. – N., June 2026
Wollens have been absolutely fantastic during the entire case but my experience working with Amelia has been exceptional. I cannot fault anything about her work and will most definitely recommend/request her if myself or anyone else of that matter needs legal advice/representation. – H., July 2026
The caring and understanding I received from my solicitor was absolutely superb… I would highly recommend her and the firm. – N.S., August 2026
I cannot praise Wollens Barnstaple branch highly enough for excellent, professional service when selling and purchasing property. I would happily recommend them and intend using them again for further legal matters. Thank you so much Andrew Wood for making it all such a smooth and stress free process.
My will was all done remotely by phone, notes, letters due to the distance involved – about 145 miles, general health and Covid restrictions. More recently I had a serious illness with loss of driving license and other lasting problems but I have been very lucky with the outcome. What seemed difficult was much easier with the help I was given. Excellent service. Solicitor Alex Jenkins and secretary Enya Garrett have been friendly, considerate, shown knowledge in an understanding way throughout preparing my will – and I have never met them. Wollens is highly recommended.
Craig and Shirley at Wollen’s have supported us throughout a particularly tricky matter, where usual routes of communication were not possible. The advice that we were given was always very clear and concise and we found Wollen’s very responsive to any queries or concerns. They were conscious of the weighty emotional element involved but very mindful of removing the emotion from decision making processes, which made it easier to see the bigger picture. I would certainly recommend to friends or colleagues requiring legal support.
