Summer Vacation Scheme – University Students

Our summer vacation scheme is an ideal way for University students studying law to gain experience in a modern, progressive law firm.

Each placement is for one week and you will spend your time working in a variety of departments including Private Client, Family, Property, Dispute Resolution and Commercial. Wollens are one the the largest independent law firms in the South West, employing 140 people with exceptional specialists across private client and commercial law. The business has showed steady growth in recent years with a firm wide re-brand in 2019. We are ranked in the current Legal 500 Directory and are certified as a Great Place to Work. Alongside this we are accredited by Planet Mark aligning our commitment to sustainable working.

We have offices in Torquay, Exeter and Barnstaple and each office will be offering placements. If you are successful in gaining a work placement with Wollens the scheme dates are outlined below. 

We offer the scheme at the end of June/beginning of July.

 The application process and closing date have now passed for 2023.

We will be running the vacation scheme again in 2024 and will post the dates with a link to the application form on this page in January 2024.

 Work Experience – School Age:

Unfortunately we are not able to provide work experience for school age students.

We do attend school careers fayres in our region and are happy to discuss opportunities and careers in the legal sector at these events.
