Disciplinary Matters

Sport is by its very nature a competitive and pressurised environment to be in and around which increases the chances of a sports professional to act out of character. This may place players, coaches and athletes facing disciplinary proceedings. These proceedings can be set in motion by the club as the sports persons employer or the governing body with that sport.

If a player finds itself the subject of an investigation a pro-active approach that looks into not only the legal but also the commercial issues is of paramount importance as well as advice being imparted as soon as possible.

As in all walks of a working life, Sport is no different with regards to rules and regulations that can be breached. That is why getting advice on how to defend yourself in relation to unsubstantiated allegations, knowing what to do and when is imperative to protect your position with the aim of minimising any penalty that may be imposed.  Any penalty, fine or ban will have a damaging affect on your current and future career, reputation and commercial viability which is why it is important to seek advice at an early stage.
