The Wollens initiative is to take in an event in Exeter for the first time. Wollens solicitors Simon Bean and Jon Dunkley lead the sessions.

Jon is a partner who heads the firm’s specialist Employment Department. He advises on all aspects of employment law and is a member of the Employment Law Association. Simon specialises in resolving business disputes and employment-related matters.

In the past they have hosted the club in Barnstaple and Torquay – but now Exeter will be on the diary for the first time after Wollens sealed their first presence and office in the city’s Cathedral Yard after last year’s merger with Morgan and Pope. Keeping on top of the constantly changing and complex legislation and legal developments in the world of business can be a challenge for many firms.

The clubs are able to bring business owners and/or managers up to speed with those changes and can offer advice and general support.

Wollens say: “The meetings are led by our expert employment and commercial lawyers and external speakers and consist of talks and group discussions on topical aspects of employment law and other issues affecting your business. It is also a great opportunity for you to network with other employers and professionals.”

The club has listed five reasons to attend:

  1. You will hear about recent developments affecting your business from employment and business specialists.
  2. You will be able to ask questions and share your experiences and there is always time for questions afterwards.
  3. You can sign up to regular employment and business updates.
  4. There is the opportunity to network with other business owners, managers and business support professionals.
  5. The club is free to join – we even cover the tea, biscuits and pastries. At Exeter there will be a free bacon butty!

Wollens added: “By signing up to any of our events you will also be put on our database where we will send you regular alerts on the main employment and other business changes that might affect you. Please note that the club meetings only allow limited numbers so all registrations are on a first come first serve basis. We look forward to seeing you there.”
