From 6th April 2022, the limits on employment tribunal compensation will increase and apply to any dismissals that take place after that date. The key changes are:
- The maximum award for unfair dismissal will be the lower of either 12 months’ pay or £93,878 (up from £89,493)
- The statutory cap on a week’s pay for calculating the basic award in unfair dismissal cases or statutory redundancy payments will increase to £571 (up from £544).
- The maximum statutory redundancy award will therefore increase to £17,130.
