Wollens are delighted to welcome Partner and Solicitor Emma Reed to the Commercial department. An established, successful, and diligent lawyer, Emma will work with Wollens clients in all aspects of commercial law.
Originally from Yorkshire Emma studied Law at the University of Leicester and went on to undertake her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in York.
Emma’s first post was with Law firm Addleshaw Goddard who have offices in London, Leeds and Manchester. Here she qualified within the firm’s commercial property department in Manchester.
In 2002 Emma was selected for a secondment to the Manchester Commonwealth Games committee where she was tasked with finalising the necessary commercial contracts.
During a gap year after university Emma met husband James (originally from Devon) and they eventually married and made the decision to move to Devon where they have lived for over 17 years.
Prior to joining Wollens Emma has been based in North Devon and built up a strong reputation whilst working at local law firm Slee Blackwell specialising in every aspect of commercial property law from site assembly to planning, acquisitions, disposals, option agreements, joint venture build agreements and leases, building a regional and national client base.
Alongside Commercial Property work she also deals with company commercial law including asset and share sales and purchases, structures, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements, bespoke contracts such as distribution and manufacturing agreements, joint venture agreements, business T’s & C’s, and licensing.
Excited to be joining Wollens, Emma says “this has been a significant career decision”. Her appointment further strengthens the company and commercial team.
