The Wollens Glitter Girls are already planning next year’s theme after completing an ‘amazing’ Rowcroft Sleep Walk at the weekend.

A team from the Torquay and Newton Abbot offices of the law firm joined hundreds of other walkers for the massive Rowcroft Hospice fund-raising event on Saturday.

The team, pictured here, comprised back row (left to right) June Gully, Tracy Bell, Leanne Trigg, Sue Norrish, Abigail Stanbridge, and Trish Candy. Front row Abigail Marsh and Emma Smaldon.

Wollens Legal Assistant and Glitter Girl Trish Candy said: “The walk started at the Riviera International Conference Centre and went along the Torquay sea front to the Marina and then back to Hollacombe where a free Gin and Prosecco bar were waiting for the walkers.

“This might have given us a bit more incentive to up our paces.”

She added: “It was a beautiful evening. The sun was shining and, as there were lots of people about, it also raised awareness for the wonderful work that Rowcroft does for the community.

“The members of the public were congratulating the walkers as we passed and were clapping and cheering us on.

“It was an amazing atmosphere. There was lots of sparkle and every one of us had a smile on our faces.  When speaking to other walkers the main comments were ‘awesome experience and amazing atmosphere’ and ‘will definitely do it again’.”

Over £100,000 has been raised so far, with more monies coming in.

“My thoughts are – bring on next year which is taking place on the July 4 and hmmm what might the theme be I wonder?”  said Trish.
