It’s all systems go for Wollens with our latest investment and growth plans for operations in the north of the county.

In October last year Wollens, formally Wollen Michelmore, merged with the well-established and well-known North Devon practice Toller Beattie who were based at Devonshire House on the town’s Pottington Business Park. Wollens have had an office on Roundswell business park since 2017 and the two sites have been running in tandem since the merger last October.

The plan was always to consolidate the two offices into an expanded all-in-one base and the decision to relocate at Roundswell was taken.

Work on transforming the offices began just a few weeks ago and is quickly taking shape.

In fact, it is currently ahead of schedule and the plan is to have the Wollens North Devon team in the revamped offices after the Bank Holiday from Tuesday August 27.

The Wollens services will then operate from both floors at the building with family and private client on the ground floor and property, commercial, dispute resolution and criminal on the first floor.

Wollens chief executive Chris Hart said: “To bring all our services and operations under one roof and in new office accommodation is another significant investment and big vote of confidence in our North Devon business. It will bring our staff even closer together. It will also enable our customers to access any service they need from one, easy-to-access office.”

Mark Roome, former Toller Beattie partner and partner at Wollens commented “A lot of planning, time and energy has gone it the office transformation. I would like to thank the entire team involved and look forward to working in a brand new and modern environment which will benefit our staff and customers alike. The Toller Beattie name may have gone above the door, but the same client care and exceptional legal advice is still very much what we aim to deliver for our clients and this new office is part of this ongoing evolution which will help us improve our services.”

The Toller Beattie merger was one of two for Wollen in the past 12 months – a merger with Morgan and Pope in Exeter was their other.

The solicitors also successfully completed a massive company rebrand which included changing its name from Wollen Michelmore.

Its new slogan – Full Spectrum Law – is a perfect fit for its new North Devon operation with its comprehensive array of services now available all under one roof.

Wollens now have offices in Torquay, Exeter, Barnstaple, Dartmouth and Newton Abbot.

Wollens is now one of the largest independent law firms in the west country, employing more than 185 people and with an annual turnover of between £9.5 and £10m.
