Rachel Carter, family lawyer and partner at Wollens has been award the Solicitor of the Year Award at the Devon & Somerset Legal awards 2023. The judges were unanimous in their decision in what was described as a strong field of entries. 

The awards, which recognises and celebrates the achievements of those in the legal profession across the region were held at The Great Hall, Exeter University, on 22nd June 2023.

Rachel, who works almost exclusively in complex care proceedings and non-accidental injury, acts for parents and carers within these complex proceedings which involve allegations of physical abuse against children. Her work is nationwide and Rachel is a member of the Law Society’s specialist Children’s Panel.

Rachel said

“I am truly delighted to be have been selected as  Solicitor of the Year for 2023, the legal profession is an ever-changing landscape and it was a category of strong nominees. I am passionate about making legal services accessible for as many people as possible and work hard to ensure that my clients have access to justice. Winning this award is recognition of the hard work that myself and my team put into the specialist work that we do !”

The legal awards are held annually and judged by an independent panel of experts organised by the team at the Devon & Somerset Law society.
