Wollens are pleased to be a sponsor at South Devon Cricket Club, recognising the importance of local sport in the community.

Once again young talent has been recognised through the Colts presentation night where Practice Director Clive Meredith presented the players with their awards.

The Player of the Year was awarded to Billy Whalley who received his award from Clive.

For South Devon Cricket Club these amazing young people are the future of the club.

Clive said “It’s always a special night presenting these awards to all those worthy winners. It’s also a great night to thank all the volunteers who give endless hours to make sure the club function so well at all levels. We’ve had a long relationship with South Devon Cricket Club and it’s just great to see the club go from strength to strength.”

REUBEN Hargreaves was a winner twice over at South Devon CC’s youth section awards evening.

Reuben, one of the three Hargreaves brothers who play for the Newton Abbot club, was named bowler of the year for his performances in the under-15 side. A second award, the coaches’ player of the year trophy, also went to young Hargreaves.

It was a good night for the Hargreaves as middle brother Louis, was the youth section batsman of the year.

Other award winners were Billy Whalley (player of the year), Jackson Evans (parents’ player of the year) and Harry Hughes, who collected the most-improved player award accompanied by a huge cheer.
