Cate said “My role as a Councillor has enabled me to participate in the organisation and running of large community events such as the celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II’s Jubilee and the Coronation of King Charles III, our annual Town Christmas event and others.  This enables a working partnership with others, especially our Chamber of Trade and Commerce along with our voluntary and charity organisations.

As a Town Councillor and newly elected Mayor, I have already attended civic events and activities with more in the diary. It is a real privilege to represent Teignmouth in this role.”

Cate’s role as part of the family team at Wollens, also enables her to work within the community helping families and children.

Cate went on to say “My professional role interlinks with the role as Town Councillor/Mayor, it brings empathy and understanding on the difficulties families and children face, especially those involved with social services, or who face serious allegations of harm in their parenting of children, along with current societal problems.   Both roles enable me to work with people, with agencies and other professional organisations, giving rise to links and signposting opportunities.”

Cate is also the the current Honorary Secretary of the New Road Community Association (known as The Richard Newton Hall) in Teignmouth – another local community centre providing opportunities to residents helping with social activities, events & wellbeing.

The team at Wollens are delighted to support Cate in her roles, she is is dedicated lawyer and local Mayor of Teignmouth, tirelessly championing the needs of the community and earns admiration for her contributions.
