Wollens are delighted to be representing Tommy Foster a very talented young man making an impression in the Euro Le Mans series that is due to finish in Portugal at the end of this month. Head of our Sports Law Division Marco Floreale  writes about Tommy and his meeting with him earlier this month.

Marco Floreale – Head of Sports Law, Wollens

When you think of endurance motor racing one conjures up an image of great drivers and great race tracks and Le Mans would certainly be up there with history, romance of the sport, the definition of true grit and the pinnacle of driving under immense pressure. With all of that in the mix, we are extremely pleased that we are now representing Tommy supporting him in his future career.

Tommy comes from a small Cornish town and was hooked with motor racing from the tender age of 6 – after attending his first ever race. At the age of 7 he started karting and it was clear that he had a future in motorsport. Tommy went on to win several championships and was the back-to-back English and British Open Champion.

  • Next up was Formula 4, however with the global pandemic, his racing was put on pause for nearly 2 years.
  • In April 2021 he debuted in the Le Mans Cup in the LMP3 car and after only 6 hours of practice, won the race.
  • With an extremely promising career ahead of him, Tommy is determined and ready to continue moving up the motorsport ladder with the ultimate goal of becoming World Endurance Racing Champion.

In fact Tommy will jump up a class for the 2024 season and debut in a LMP2 car and drive at famous circuits such as Barcelona, Imola and Spa-Francorchamps to name a few. The ultimate prize is for a team and their driver to get an automatic invitation to the 24 hours of Le Mans – which is the pinnacle of the endurance calendar.

This represents for Wollens an exciting chapter for our Sports Law Division as it further enhances our growing roster of representing elite sports people and broadening our levels of expertise into markets that historically can get overlooked but are needed more than everyday household sports as the needs, representation and sponsorships are more complex.

Chris Hart and I, have recently returned from watching and supporting Tommy in Belgium where he raced at the famous Spa- Francorchamp  course over a 2-hour endurance race. Tommy brought his car home in second place only for the post-race scrutineering to have found a discrepancy from his partner when he was behind the wheel.

Chris Hart, Chief Executive said ” We are delighted to be representing Tommy Foster in his future racing career. His performance to date has been impressive and it was a great pleasure to meet him and his team recently. The partnership signifies our optimism and enthusiasm for Tommy’s potential in the racing world.”

Not only is Tommy a local talent but is quickly establishing himself a global talent in the Endurance world of motor racing, which has already caught the eye of royalty as Tommy is endorsed by Prince Albert of Monaco!

As the season comes to an end one eye is already on the next season, the opportunities this presents and how we are working with Tommy and his family in bringing these opportunities to market. The opportunities include partnering with Tommy Foster as an Ambassador, branding, promotion, and advertising on either his car or his suit.
